GOAL

To present the authentic and complete message of Jesus Christ and His Church to all children with the intent to open each individual learner to a growing realization and grateful response to the love relationship with God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

OBJECTIVES

• To build community spirit in each classroom.

• To help individual children grow toward a greater maturity of faith and understanding.

• To help each individual learner become familiar with his/her Christian Catholic heritage be providing a thorough curriculum through instruction.

• To lead and guide individuals in prayer and ways of reflecting about his/her faith development and faith life.

• To help all children build the Church, the Body of Christ, by responding to the Gospel message of witness and service.

Thus, our catechesis here at St. Joseph’s invites and challenges all our children through on-going process of faith development by

1. proclaiming God’s word,

2. building a faith community,

3. celebrating through worship and prayer, and

4. calling forth authentic witness and service.

In the event of inclement weather, St. Joseph Parish School of Religion will cancel classes based on Cobb County school closings for that day.
