Saint Joseph Catholic School is a parish school. Father John Walsh is pastor of the school and Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Students of the school come from five metro counties: Cobb, Cherokee, Douglas, Fulton, and Paulding. We serve thirteen area parishes. Saint Joseph Catholic School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Southern Association of Independent Schools. In addition, the school has been named as a 2003 No Child Left Behind National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.

The curriculum at Saint Joseph Catholic School is designed to challenge and motivate students to achieve academic success, while simultaneously building self-confidence, self-discipline, healthy work habits, and learning about God's plan for their lives. At the heart of our curriculum is our religion program. We incorporate our religious values into all areas of the curriculum, including English, mathematics, reading, science and social studies, with supporting classes in foreign language, computer science, art, music, library science, guidance and physical education. Students attend a school Mass each Wednesday morning at 8:15 AM. Throughout the school year, each of the classes take turns planning and participating in the liturgy.

In addition to our curriculum, various activities and leadership opportunities are available to our students such as Safety Patrol, Student Council, Spelling Bee, Oratorical Contest, Science Fair and Altar Servers. There are also several extra curricular activities such as Band (Grades 6-8), Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts, and a Saint Joseph Parish Basketball Program for girls and boys in grades 3-8. In addition, we offer our youngest students in kindergarten through second grade an opportunity to build their basketball skills through our 'Lil Cougars program. Volleyball is available to girls (grades 5-8) of Saint Joseph Catholic School and parish. Grades K-5 have a monthly Roller Skating Party.
