CORE MEMBER INFORMATION
Would you like to consider being a Core Member for 2026-2027?
Review the different roles needed for each program, and email the staff member in charge of the age group you are interested in serving for more information.
All volunteers must be Virtus Cleared & Background Checked before volunteering. To begin this process, please reach out to Safe Environment Coordinator, Yvonne Waits, at ywaits@saintjosephcc.org.
Teen Volunteers:
Please fill out the paperwork below and submit it to the Faith Formation staff you are hoping to work with.

LEADERSHIP TEAM
These are leadership roles helping to coordinate and support areas of formation not always a Catechist/Core Members (except for the Head Catechist/Core Member and Presenter Role). These people will serve as organizational leaders between staff and additional volunteers.
Roles needed for each Session Time
Hospitality – (weekly) Food, Environment
Set Up, Clean Up – (weekly) Tables, Chairs, Supplies on table
Head Catechist/Core Member – (weekly) Point person per Session time to make sure volunteers/subs are in place, have materials
Gopher/Floater – (weekly) Help run errands around campus, assistant to those needing supplies, and fill-in for anyone or position in need.
Presenters – (1x per month) Facilitate either Family or Age Group Sessions. Lead games, talk, small group times. All Materials would be provided by Faith Formation Staff.
Additional Roles
Mentors – (1-2x per month) Check in and pray for about 3 families. Form a relationship, invite them to events, check in on Sacrament status.
Sacraments – (1-2x/monthly) Assist with formation events outside of sessions for Reconciliation, Communion, and Confirmation
Event Coordinator – People that want to help with a specific area of events. Youth Ministry, Family (targeting preschool/elementary age) events, EDGE Service, EDGE Social). Help plan, organize, and/or facilitate the events.
