Advent Prayer

Lord Jesus, Master of both the light and the darkness,

send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas.

We who have so much to do and seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day,

We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us.

We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom.

We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence.

We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light.

To you we say, "Come Lord Jesus!"

Amen.

advent Giving

Giving Tuesday

This year Monsignor Walsh has asked that our parish Giving Tuesday donations be directed to our Refugee Connections Ministry.

Saint Joseph recently welcomed a family of four from Afghanistan. They will be moved into permanent housing this month. With the upcoming move, furniture and household goods are needed.

Please help us welcome this family.

Purchase Gifts for a Family in Need

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society along with the Knight will be sponsoring their Annual Christmas Adopt a Family Program again this year for local families in need. Please select a family from the available list. Purchase 2 gifts per child and return the UNWRAPPED gifts with the FAMILY # attached to the bag/box to the Narthex by Thuesday Decmeber 18. Thank you for your continued support.

Partner with Catholic Charities to provide Gifts and Food for a Refugee Family.

We hope that you will consider this opportunity to share your blessings with others. Georgia is home to over 50,000 resettled refugees from all over the world. Refugees are individuals who have fled their countries of origin and meet the United Nations’ criteria of having a “well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.” Catholic Charities Atlanta provides Refugee Services to refugee families arriving in the metro Atlanta area. The extensive resettlement services are designed to help refugees achieve economic and social self-sufficiency within their first six months in the United States. All families

participating in this program have been screened by case workers at Catholic Charities Atlanta and need your help.

RESOURCES

The Hallow App

Saint Joseph has partnered with the Hallow App. We invite you to join us in year’s Hallow Pray25 challenge, “Be Still.” Together, we’ll journey with Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem—a path filled with uncertainty, fatigue, and even fear, yet marked by a deep trust in God. Together, we’ll dive into the Infancy Narratives, reflections from The Reed of God by Caryll Houselander, and the wisdom of the saints. Along the way, we’ll learn how to rest in God’s presence, to listen, and to find peace amid the chaos of our lives.
