Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, and emphasizes a personal relationship with God. Our focus is deepening our relationship with the living Christ. The group meets on the first and fourth Wednesday of each month to pray together, watch DVD’s on contemplative prayer life, and engage in discussion. All are welcome.

This ministry serves as a focal point of prayer for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Every Sunday at the 9:00 AM Mass, participants are presented with “The Elijah Cup,” a consecrated chalice used at that Mass. The cup is placed in a prominent place in the home for the week, and each day, during prayer time, the people pray for an increase and perseverance of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. At the end of the week, the Elijah Cup is returned to the church for another family, or individual, to participate.

Lectio Divina is Latin for divine reading of Scripture. We discover how God is speaking to our hearts. We meditate on a different passage each month. Lectio Divina is a personal encounter with God. No experience is necessary, only an open heart.  We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM.

This ministry is a movement within the Catholic Church for the enrichment of marriages. Couples attending a weekend retreat rediscover themselves, and their spouse, and deeply enrich their relationship. During this private weekend couples learn new ways to communicate with one another.

Deacon Frank Devereux (404)933-5263 [email protected]
