Centering Prayer
Ministry Lead: Linda Lee Davis | [email protected] | (770) 218-1584
Ministry Lead: Monica Alicea | [email protected] | (404) 386-6704

Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, and emphasizes a personal relationship with God. Our focus is deepening our relationship with the living Christ. The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month to pray together, study contemplative prayer life through readings or DVD’s, and engage in discussion. All are welcome. During the pandemic, the Centering Prayer group has not met in person, but we have kept in touch via email and encourage all members to sit in a twenty-minute silent Centering Prayer meditation in our own homes at the same time when we would usually do the practice together at meetings. Zoom meetings may be explored, but in-person meetings will resume when it is safe to do so.

Elijah Cup
Ministry Lead: Gail Hollingsworth | [email protected] | (770) 265-1448
This ministry serves as a focal point of prayer for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Every Sunday at the 9:00 AM Mass, a family or individual is presented with “The Elijah Cup,” a consecrated chalice used at that Mass. The cup is prominently displayed in the participants' home for the week. Each day, during prayer time, the family or individual prays for an increase and perseverance of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. At the end of the week, the Cup is returned to the church for another family, or individual, to receive "The Elijah Cup" for the following week.

Lectio Divina
Ministry Lead: Deacon Norm Keller | [email protected] | (678) 594-6597
Lectio Divina is Latin for divine reading of Scripture. We discover how God is speaking to our hearts. We meditate on a different Bible passage each month. Lectio Divina is a personal encounter with God. No experience is necessary, only an open heart. Due to the pandemic, we are not meeting in person. Rather, the monthly scripture selection and meditation is emailed to members for their own at-home reflection. Members are encouraged to email Deacon Norm to share any of their own thoughts about scripture with him. If anyone would like to join the Lectio Divina email list, please contact Deacon Norm to be added.
